Zayn Malik may be boy band royalty but it’s still the simpler things in life that put a smile on his pouty little face.

“I’m into comic books,” he told Vevo Lift. “I used to collect them when I was younger – it’s quite a geeky thing I think.”

In the past Zaynster has confessed that his cartoon drawings have upset certain members of One Direction – namely Louis Tomlinson, who gets a bit fussy about his hair. Quelle shock.

“The other day I didn’t draw Louis’ hair the way I usually do it and he really moaned”, he told The Sun last year.

Now though he seems to have found a strop-safe way to draw Luigi.

“When fans ask me to draw I’ll draw Niall or Louis with big muscles, just like funny cartoons really!”

We predict a sharp rise in comic book sales after this.

Apparently not. Yummy mummy Anne announced the to the nation a little earlier that her son and One Direction hottie Harry Styles has some BIG bedroom news.

In her weekly #HarryStylesNews slot on Huw Stevens’ Radio 1 show she told the DJ that the big Harry Styles News of the last seven days was that he is getting a new BED.

Yes really.

Last time Harry spoke about getting a new mattress for his bed Twitter went a little bit berserk.

On the day 1D made history by going to Number 1 on the US Billboard charts, Harry revealed the first thing he’d be spending his money on was a new mattress.

And now it seems he’s going the whole hog by replacing the frame too.

The news that he’s replacing the whole thing has made the omg! girls raise an eyebrow or two (as expected).

And, sure enough, it’s lead to a few tweets from Directioners about what they’d like to DO in Harry’s bed.

We can only wonder exactly what kind of bed Mr Styles will be purchasing and more importantly what kind of state the old one is in.

One girl who probably could share a detail or two is Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack, who today opened up for the first time about her relationship with boyband member.

Speaking to the Mail’s You mag, the 32-year-old said that the pair got really close - but that they decided just to be friends.

And she added that they were still very good chums.

Meanwhile Harry and the rest of the One Direction boys Zayn, Niall, Liam and Louis continued their domination of America last night.

The boys made US viewers *lol* and *swoon* all at the same time as they performed their hit singles What Makes You Beautiful and One Thing on Saturday night live.

And they even donned curly wigs, stripy shirts and fake moustaches to appear as Juan Direction for a skit on the show.
